Antique shopping in Mid-Michigan is a genuine small-town pleasure. The region is dotted with multi-dealer malls, family-run shops, and consignment stores where the inventory changes every week, and fall is the ideal season to browse: the weather is cool, the downtowns are quiet, and the hunt for a warm-weather find feels right. This guide covers the shops worth stopping at across Genesee, Oakland, Livingston, Saginaw, and Bay counties, with addresses so you can build your own route.
Fenton: Three Shops on One Main Street
Fenton is the easiest antique day trip in the region because several shops sit within a few blocks. Yesterday's Treasures (300 S. Leroy St.) is a long-running favorite with furniture, glassware, and collectibles. The Treasure Shack (3478 W. Thompson Rd.) is a multi-dealer space just off downtown, and Cottage Girl Vintage (107 W. Shiawassee Ave.) leans toward cottage and farmhouse style. Park once, walk the downtown, and hit all three.
Holly: A Small-Town Antique Row
Holly's historic downtown on Saginaw Street is another concentrated stop. Holly Antiques (118 S. Saginaw St.) anchors the block with furniture and vintage decor, Blue Willow Exchange (103 S. Saginaw St.) is right next door with a mix of antiques and consignment finds, and The Vintage Farm House (310 S. Broad St.) adds farmhouse and handmade wares. Holly is about 30 minutes from Flint and makes a nice pairing with a walk through the downtown's shops and cafés.
Linden and the Genesee County Ring
In Linden, Thimbleberry Antiques (101 N. Bridge St.) is a well-regarded shop in the village's small downtown. Around the rest of Genesee County, Gotta Have It Consignments (6070 Fenton Rd., Flint) is a large consignment store on the Grand Blanc corridor, Something Used Something New (3600 S. Dort Hwy., Flint) and Not 2 Shabby Vintage (1142 E. Maple Ave., Flint) add more Flint options, and Paradise Vintage Antiques and More (2241B W. Vienna Rd., Clio) covers the north side of the county.
Swartz Creek and Birch Run: Malls Worth the Drive
Along the Miller Road corridor in Swartz Creek, Sister's Vin-tique (9110 Miller Rd.) and Flash Back Vintage (9106 Miller Rd.) sit in a shopping plaza with a rotating mix of vintage and collectibles, and BARNHOUSE Vintage and Handmade Wares (4036 Grand Blanc Rd.) is nearby. A few minutes north, Around the Farm Antique Mall (12025 Gera Rd., Birch Run) is a classic multi-dealer barn-style mall, the kind of place you can wander for an hour.
Saginaw, Bay City, and Frankenmuth
Antique Warehouse (1122 Tittabawassee Rd., Saginaw) is one of the larger antique destinations in the region, with multiple floors of dealers. In Bay City, Bay City Antiques Center (1020 N. Water St.) and Americana Company Antiques (912 N. Water St.) sit along the riverfront, easy to pair with a walk on the boardwalk. And in Frankenmuth, the River Place Shops (925 S. Main St.) and Frankenmuth Clock and German Gift Company (966 S. Main St.) offer a more curated, gift-shop version of the hunt.
Tips for a Productive Antique Day
Hours vary widely at small shops, so call ahead or check a shop's website before driving. Many of these are multi-dealer spaces, which means prices and payment methods differ from booth to booth, and cash is still welcome at several. Bring measurements if you are hunting furniture, and remember that most shops are happy to hold an item for a day while you think it over. Fall is also when many shops refresh inventory for the holidays, so the selection is often at its best right now.
A good antique day is also a good way to learn a region, because every shop tells you something about the towns around it. If you are new to Mid-Michigan or thinking about a move, exploring these downtowns is a pleasant way to get a feel for the communities, and I would be glad to help you compare them as places to call home.
